Santa Barbara Drum Day 2009

“Join in the Rhythm”
for the 2nd annual Santa Barbara Drum Day!

Drum Day is a 2-hour interactive drumming experience featuring Santa Barbara-based Dancing Drum, special guest percussionists, and the community of Santa Barbara. This is an all ages, all abilities, all levels of drumming experience event that gets the entire audience involved in playing drums for 2 hours. Everyone is welcome and no previous drumming experience is necessary to participate.

Dancing Drum’s Steve Campbell and Lindsay Rust will facilitate this year’s drumming festivities, with special guests taking the lead at turns. Last year’s inaugural Drum Day engaged 300 people in drumming together, a success that organizers hope to expand upon this year.

Drums and percussion instruments will be provided by event sponsor REMO. Attendees who have their own drums are encouraged to bring them and add to the drumming fun.

The second annual Santa Barbara Drum Day is a free event sponsored by the Santa Barbara County Arts Commission, the Children’s Creative Project, REMO, and Dancing Drum. For interviews, questions, info on volunteer opportunities, and further details, please contact Dancing Drum at info@dancingdrum.com.
